The Betty Strong Encounter Center will host “Holiday Cookie-Decorating Fun ” with Eileen McCormick, from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, December 8 in the Center’s activity room. Admission, materials and cookies will be free.

The event will welcome families and friends to use a variety of materials to create personalized gingerbread cookies that celebrate the holiday season. Sunday’s activity is a great chance to test your artistic ability, and you can eat all mistakes.

During the time of Lewis and Clark, holiday spices, including ginger were costly and only used for special occasions. Sugar was so expensive, in fact, the Corps of discovery carried just two bags of sugar on its journey.
