Center sets L&C school docent training (Aug. 28, 2008) – The Center will offer a three-part training program for prospective school tour docents Sept. 4, 5 and 9 at the interpretive center and the adjoining Betty Strong Encounter Center. The sessions are open to people interested in becoming docents and also people who have previously participated in the Center’s school program. Instructors will be Marcia Poole, director; Sydney Kruse, school tour consultant; and Christina Thomsen, special projects assistant. The program will comprise three sessions:
The school tour docent program is open to adults who would like to share the story of Lewis & Clark’s time in the present-day Sioux City area. Upon completion of training, docents will receive official T-shirts. The Sioux City Lewis & Clark Interpretive Center is a private, non-profit institution connected to the Betty Strong Encounter Center on the Missouri Riverfront, exit 149 off I-29.
