Junior Explorers’ Club sets summer activities

  (May 31, 2006) – The Center’s Junior Explorers’ Club will launch its summer schedule with a scavenger hunt at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, June 3. All children entering second through fifth grade are invited to join the club. The half-hour activity and all materials are free.

  Each Junior Explorer will receive a Lewis & Clark pin, a membership card and an official Lewis & Clark Interpretive Center journal. This summer’s Junior Explorer schedule includes:

·         “A Whale of a Tale”: June 8 and July 29

·         “Our American Flag”: June 14

·         “Mapping an Expedition”: June 17

·         “It’s about Time”: June 29 and July 27

·         “Lewis & Clark Scavenger Hunt”: July 1

·         “Lewis & Clark Bingo”: July 15 and Aug. 5

·         “Adventure Activities”: July 20

·         Lewis & Clark Storytelling”: July 22

·         “Junior Botany”: Aug. 3

   All Junior Explorer activities begin at 1:30 p.m. Large groups may request additional Junior Explorer sessions by special arrangement. For more information contact Brian Gameros, the Center’s bi-lingual youth activities coordinator at bgameros@siouxcitylcic.com or 712-224-5242.

  The Sioux City Lewis & Clark Interpretive Center is located off I-29, exit 149. It is open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday, noon to 5 p.m. Sunday.
